Rift Camp Cookout
Our annual Rift Camp cookout will be on Friday Aug. 19th. We’ll start with meet & greet at 5:00 with dinner around 6:00. Steak, salt potatoes, corn on the cob, salads and beverages are on the menu. We’ll have some raffles as well. Dinner will cost $15 and we hope many Lions can bring a guest.
The Rift Camp cookout will be our regular meeting for August. No more meetings until September. Please contact Lion George F. to reserve. We need to know ahead of time how many will attend to plan the meal. Several Ontario Lions are attending. We always have a great time and hope you can be there.
Jet Ski Poker Run
This was a very successful event. The poker run brought over 80 participating watercraft and raised over $5000 for our club! Lion John D. did a wonderful job organizing this event and we thank him for the many hours he put into it to make it a success. Thanks to all Lions who worked the event.
Bass Tournament
We had an average size tournament this year. We had 18 boats and the club made over $1000. Unfortunately we had at least six boats cancel on us, probably more, because of the uncertainty about being able to fish Canadian waters.
Board of Directors meeting
The board will sell our donated boat on 8/20 to the best offer received. We have several interested buyers and plan to list the boat for sale on Craig’s List. Thanks to Lion Jim M. for helping organize this sale.
We’re planning another Pizza Sale fundraiser in partnership with Attilio’s. We’ll probably sell two topping pizzas for $10 and our club will keep $3. We plan to sell them during the weeks of Sept. 10 and 17. We’ll need volunteers to sell at various businesses in Clayton. Lion John D. is organizing this sale.
Meetings
Sept. Board meeting and first regular meeting on Monday Sept. 12, 6:30 pm at
TILT office.
Regular meeting: Monday Sept. 26, 6:30 pm at TILT. This will be a Pot Luck dinner. Information about the program in Sept. newsletter.
