At our last meeting in May we discussed how we might re-invent the Clayton Lions Club and make it an organization that is so much fun to belong to that everyone will want to attend meetings. We have gotten away from organizing programs at our meetings and we’ve tended to spend our time discussing Lions projects. The meetings aren’t as fun and interesting as they used to be.
We’re determined to change this and become the vibrant club we used to be. We need your help, specifically we need your attendance. Here are some changes we intend to implement. We will have summer meetings, when our club members are here and we will look at scaling back or curtailing meetings in the winter, when attendance has been poor. We will have pot luck dinners once a month and we’ll have an interesting program at our dinners. We’ll reinstate Tail Twisters. We’ll have a good time again. But we need you there. We need everyone to make Clayton Lions the club it once was and all it really takes is for everyone to participate.
Installation of Officers/End of Year Meeting
On Monday June13th our last meeting of the will be held at C-Way Restaurant, at 6:30 p.m. Everyone will order off the menu. In keeping with our pledge to re-invent our club, we have a good program lined up. Geoffery and Chandra Burghardt will demonstrate ballroom dancing. They compete and perform semi-professionally so this is a special program.
In addition we will induct some new members to our club: Vickie Staie and Bobby Williams and possibly more. It is important that all of our club be there to welcome them.
In addition we have special awards for Ed Hall, Walt Christensen and Andy Zach and other Clayton Lions who have exemplified Lions’ values throughout the year.
Past District Governor Gary Brown will be our MC for officer and new members induction.
Please be there. And bring a guest. Lets fill the restaurant.
Annual Membership Dues for 2011 – 2012 are due
Dues are $70 if paid in June. Couples would pay $70 for one and $45.50 for spouse if paid in June. Dues must be paid by June 30th. Please contact Lion George at 686-5268 if you have any questions about this year’s dues. Thank you for your cooperation in this.

Clayton Lions Club baseball hats are here! We have 12 to sell at $12.50 each. They are Lions royal blue with the Lions emblem and “Clayton Lions Club” embroidered around the emblem. First come, first serve. They are nice hats.
Trash & Treasures Sale. The sale will be Saturday, June 11, to coincide with the village wide yard sale. At this typing, we don’t have many donated items for the sale.
