Lions Club International, through the Lions Foundation, has made a big impact on earthquake ravaged Haiti. LCI has provided new homes to over 600 families in Haiti along with significant aid to earthquake victims in the past year. Although we sometimes question the costs of being a Lion, it is good to know that we are part of something bigger, and that together we can make a difference we would be unable to do alone.

Club Activities for 2011. King Lion Tim brought up a list of events and possible projects for our club in 2011. Projects include repairing the doorframe on the Lions Building,

Clayton Lions Club has Facebook Page !

Hello all.  I've just learned that Clayton Lions Club has a Facebook page with notices of our events, fundraisers, and several photo albums, especially of the 2010 Christmas float in progress, and our Christmas tree at the TI Museum.

This is the link to click:
http://www.facebook.com/?sk=2361831622#%21/pages/Lions-of-Clayton-NY/160816077292689

If you are not familiar with Facebook, as I'm not, when on the page that this link takes you to, be sure to click on the blue tabs that say 'wall', 'info', 'photos', etc.  The photos are actually albums, and clicking on one photo will take you to more.

Lion Steve Albright has done this. We need to thank him for this great job. It's just one more way to promote our club and keep in touch, for free, too.

December Pot Luck Dinner. Our Pot Luck Dinner will be held at TILT on Monday 12/13/10 starting at 6:30. We’ll have a steamship roast beef and everyone should bring a dish to pass and place setting. Please bring a guest too! King Lion Tim is organizing some great prizes for raffle at the meeting. We’ll have a great time and hope everyone can attend. This is our only meeting for December so please plan to be there.

Christmas Float. Chalk up another First Place float for Clayton Lions! We took first in the Service Organizations division. For those who missed the parade, the Lions float featured a replica of a Canadian Steamship freighter passing under the TI Bridge. Behind the freighter Mickey Mouse rode a

Current Events
Clayton Lions are gearing up for the Holidays Season. We have a Christmas Parade float to prepare, we have a pizza sale underway, we have a new website and we have successfully led the way in Lions Field renovation work we undertook last Spring. We have two new members and we have plans to enter a tree in the TI Museum’s Festival of Trees. An active Fall and Winter lays ahead. Here is a summary of current activities. To get the full story, come to the meetings.

Christmas Float. Float designer extraordinaire, Lion John Davis, has developed what is sure to be another winning float for this year’s parade. The theme is “Christmas on the River” and Lion John has come up with a plan for building a freighter, with Xmas tree, passing under the TI Bridge.
